New York Jets’ Williams duo welcome third brother in rookie minicamp

The New York Jets began rookie minicamp on May 9 with 43 players competing for roster spots.
Twelve tryout players are included in that 43-man group and one of those players has a strong connection to the Jets already.
Miles College linebacker Giovanni Williams, the younger brother of Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams and linebacker Quincy Williams, is competing for a spot on New York’s roster.
For those who don’t know the HBCU standout, he introduced himself using his brothers as context for his talents.
‘I’m in the middle,’ he said. ‘I got Quincy’s speed but I got Quinnen’s build. I’m in the middle of both of them so everybody compares me to the hybrid of both.’
Giovanni stands 5-foot-10 and 209 pounds compared to Quincy at 5-foot-11 and 230 pounds and Quinnen at 6-foot-3 and 303 pounds.
Giovanni was part of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) champion Miles College team in 2024. He tallied 29 tackles, five tackles for loss and one sack in 11 games of action for the NCAA Division II squad.
Now he’s aiming to follow in his brothers’ footsteps with New York.
‘Seeing my chance, all I can do is come out here and do me,’ Giovanni said. ‘Just handle my business, put my best foot forward and see. Whatever happens, happens.’
The Jets’ rookie minicamp continues through the weekend. Once that wraps up on May 11, offseason activities take a pause until organized team activities (OTAs) start up on Tuesday, May 20.
