HBO Bitcoin Documentary Failed Miserably But Peter Todd’s Life is In Danger

The HBO Bitcoin documentary ‘Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery,’ went on a mission to disclose the BTC creator’s identity, putting Peter Todd’s life in danger. Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, has been in hiding ever since introducing this digital asset to the world, causing extreme hype around his name only. For years reporters, analysts, and others have been on this mission to disclose his identity, but all failed. With such a theory, the filmmaker Cullen Hoback claims that Peter is Satoshi, putting his life in danger.

Why Is Peter Todd In Hiding After HBO Bitcoin Documentary?

Every crypto enthusiast knows the name Peter Todd in the crypto industry. Whether he is Satoshi or not is a separate discussion, but he is already a famous personality. He is a renowned web developer with a cryptography and digital security background. More importantly, he played a significant role in developing the Bitcoin core and others, bringing him huge popularity.

He is also known for his humor and has jokingly called himself Satoshi Nakamoto at some points in his life. However, the HBO Bitcoin documentary presented this as the biggest evidence connecting him to the Bitcoin creator. Ever since the release of the documentary, Peter Todd has openly criticized the creators. More importantly, he assured the watchers that he was not Satoshi.

Even the crypto community declined to acknowledge the Cullen Hoback claims and called it another theory lacking evidence. However, despite the denial, Peter has to go into hiding as people begin to mail him, threatening and asking for money. It is because the documentary presented him as a Bitcoin creator with the biggest BTC holding, making him the richest crypto holder at the current Bitcoin price of $67K.

Peter criticized the creators after they put his life in danger just to promote their documentary, saying,

Obviously, falsely accusing someone of having tens of billions of dollars puts them at risk of robbery and kidnappings. He is putting my life at risk to promote his movie.

He also mentioned that Satoshi is in hiding, and there is a good reason for that. So people should stop trying to find him, but that is not what Cullen believes. In an interview, Cullen said that this anonymous figure controls a one-twentieth supply of total digital gold, and identifying him is a must.

Though many agree with him, as everyone is curious about what Satoshi Nakamoto looks like and hundreds of other questions, they do not agree with him naming Peter as Satoshi as there are many missing links in this claim.

Is Peter Really Satoshi Nakamoto?

Over the years, many people were believed as Satoshi, and some even claimed to be one by themselves. However, with the lack of proof, they ended up becoming just stories and rumors. Now, with this HBO documentary, people are left with disappointment again, as there was no complete evidence to back up their hypothesis. Even Peter Todd himself denied all the claims and called them just speculations. More importantly, he answered all the questions, making Cullen HobacK’s claims half-truth or false.

Beginning with the popular recording of Peter acknowledging himself as Satoshi Nakamoto. However, that was only a spoof, as he was enacting the Spartacus film scene, where warriors decline the Roman soldiers’ mercy and call themselves “I am Spartacus” instead of pointing at Spartacus. Peter said he did the same, and claimed that every enthusiast would say the same.

Another prominent proof was Satoshi’s post, where Peter also commented. The documentary presented it as a blunder, as Todd must have used the real account to post instead of the fake one. To disprove this, Peter Todd presented a picture of himself from 2010 and clarified why he could not have made that post. He further added that even if it was him and had replied by mistake, he would have abandoned the account to create a new one to continue to hide my identity.

With this and many other missing links, the crypto community has refused to accept the HBO Bitcoin documentary’s claims.
