Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.81%
Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 2.03% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) added 1.99% or 0.04 points to end at 2.05 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 1.40% or 0.08 points to 5.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which fell 4.14% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.10 at the close. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) declined 3.76% or 0.14 points to end at 3.58 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was down 3.04% or 0.03 points to 0.89.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 91 to 31 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.14% or 0.22 to 5.10. Shares in Intralot (AT:INLr) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.04% or 0.03 to 0.89.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.71% or 43.85 to $2,613.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.84% or 1.90 to hit $68.82 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.77% or 1.97 to trade at $73.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 106.43.
