On the strength of a 10-under-par 62 in his opening round, Rose has put himself in position to go wire-to-wire for his 13th career PGA Tour victory. He began Feb. 1 at 21 under par, six strokes clear of American Joel Dahmen and eight in front of Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and South Korea’s Si Woo Kim at the famed Torrey Pines Golf Club in La Jolla, California.

Making his return to the PGA Tour this week, Brooks Koepka began the day at 2-under, 19 shots back.
