Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.75%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which rose 6.61% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) added 6.07% or 0.33 points to end at 5.77 and Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF:RAIZ4) was up 6.02% or 0.13 points to 2.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3), which fell 10.64% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.42 at the close. Caixa Seguridade Participacoes SA (BVMF:CXSE3) declined 3.81% or 0.60 points to end at 15.13 and Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) was down 3.18% or 0.40 points to 12.19.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 661 to 295 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.18% or 0.40 to 12.19.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 10.22% to 35.74.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.25% or 32.66 to $2,640.76 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.57% or 1.11 to hit $69.47 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.12% or 0.39 to trade at $323.36 .
USD/BRL was down 1.11% to 6.09, while EUR/BRL fell 0.50% to 6.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 107.57.
