Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.21%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.21%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which rose 6.06% or 0.34 points to trade at 5.95 at the close. Meanwhile, SLC Agricola SA (BVMF:SLCE3) added 5.84% or 1.03 points to end at 18.66 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) was up 5.45% or 0.48 points to 9.28 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3), which fell 4.03% or 0.29 points to trade at 6.91 at the close. Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) declined 3.71% or 1.86 points to end at 48.27 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5) was down 2.19% or 0.14 points to 6.24.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 528 to 399 and 62 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.22% to 27.47.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.76% or 20.45 to $2,674.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.36% or 0.92 to hit $68.59 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.61% or 4.42 to trade at $269.48 .

USD/BRL was unchanged 0.06% to 5.43, while EUR/BRL fell 0.28% to 6.07.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 100.12.
